(Shanghai, 7 November 2025) At the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), Ping An Healthcare and Technology Company Limited ("Ping An Good Doctor" or the "Company"; stock code: 1833.HK) and Abbott Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. ("Abbott") announced a strategic partnership. The two companies will integrate Abbott's expertise in diabetes monitoring technology with Ping An Good Doctor's strengths in digital intelligence-enabled healthcare services. This partnership aims to advance diabetes management from "precise monitoring" to "effective management," providing enhanced intelligent, more comprehensive, and diverse health management solutions for the broad chronic disease population.
The global diabetes management market is undergoing rapid development and critical business model transformation. In China, approximately 148 million adults are living with diabetes, making diabetes management a long-term and systematic health undertaking where chronic disease prevention and health management pose substantial challenges. Traditional isolated monitoring and fragmented service models are increasingly inadequate to meet the demands of long-term, systematic health management, underscoring the industry's need for integrated "technology + service" solutions. Recently, six Chinese government agencies jointly issued the Guiding Opinions on Strengthening Primary-Level Chronic Disease Health Management Services (《关于加强基层慢性病健康管理服务的指导意见》), which aims to enhance the quality of whole-process chronic disease services by integrating primary healthcare resources. By 2030, the initiative aims to achieve the widespread adoption of a continuous service model for chronic diseases at the primary care level, extending its reach to a larger population and enhancing people's sense of benefit. The core of diabetes management lies in scientific monitoring, lifestyle intervention, and multi-disciplinary collaboration, integrating the full spectrum of services—from prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment to management and rehabilitation. This comprehensive approach dovetails with Ping An Good Doctor's full-link, full-lifecycle health management and its proactive family doctor services.
A Ping An Good Doctor representative emphasized that in chronic disease management, isolated data measurements or one-off consultations are inadequate.
Guided by the "worry-free, time-saving, and money-saving" service philosophy, the Company's family doctor delivers continuous and proactive management to patients. Through the collaboration with Abbott, Ping An Good Doctor’s family doctors will utilize more precise and continuous data to offer users increasingly personalized health management solutions.
A representative from Abbott stated that Abbott is always committed to making glucose monitoring simpler and more accurate. However, the cooperation with Ping An Good Doctor has revealed greater potential - by transforming monitoring data into actionable health insights, Abbott hopes to help patients achieve the crucial shift from "measurability" to "manageability."
The partnership is set to fully leverage the core strengths of both companies: Abbott's continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology generates comprehensive and continuous glucose profiles, while Ping An Good Doctor utilizes its extensive medical service network and AI capabilities to transform this data into actionable health management solutions. Specifically, Ping An Good Doctor has approximately 50,000 in-house doctors and contracted external doctors, including family doctors certified by both Peking University International Hospital and the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), who provide professional user support. Through its "11312" one-stop proactive health management service system, the Company delivers end-to-end service coverage—spanning health management, chronic disease care, and full-cycle medical management.
This partnership marks not only a powerful alliance between two industry leaders but also a pioneering effort to deeply integrate medical devices with digital health services. By implementing a closed-loop management model of "Monitoring–Alerting–Intervention–Feedback," the two partners aim to make diabetes management more precise, efficient, and sustainable. Moving forward, Ping An Good Doctor and Abbott will further deepen their cooperation. By combining complementary resources, co-developing capabilities, and leveraging AI technologies, they will explore innovative approaches to diabetes management—with the goal of raising health management level for chronic disease patients in China and supporting the "Healthy China" initiative.
