Revolutionizing Smart Healthcare at AI and Family Doctor Forum
From March 27-30, 2025, “AI Empowerment, Intelligent Health” Artificial Intelligence and Family Doctor Forum, jointly organized by Cross-Straits Medicine Exchange Association, Hong Kong College of Family Physicians, Taiwan Association of Family Medicine, and Macau Association of General Practitioners, was held in Haikou, China. Over 4,000 general practitioners gathered to discuss the development of medical disciplines and talent cultivation, injecting innovative momentum into general practice. Representatives from Ping An Healthcare and Technology Company Limited (“Ping An Health” or “the Company”) attended the conference.
At the conference, Professor Zhu Shanzhu, chairman of the conference, and Professor Li Guodong, jointly presented graduation certificates to the first graduates of WONCA (World Organization of Family Doctors)’s inaugural Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program for family doctors, marking the international recognition of Ping An Family Doctor’s professional capabilities and symbolizing the successful integration of China’s family doctor training system with international standards.
World’s First Online OSCE for Family Doctors Safeguards Service Quality of Ping An Family Doctor
Professor Wu Hua, Deputy Director of the Shenzhen General Practice Medical Education and Training Center and designer of Ping An Health’s first CPD program for family doctors in collaboration with WONCA, detailed the three core modules of the program: specialized course learning, independent study enhancement, and practical Internet-based healthcare, establishing a standardized framework for the training and assessment of remote/Internet-based healthcare professionals. Notably, the program completed the world’s first innovative online Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for family doctors, and assessed annual progress through the verification of phased achievements, providing important evidence for the optimization of future training programs. Professor Zhu Shanzhu from Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, a WONCA five-star family doctor in the Asia-Pacific region and a certified expert appointed by WONCA, reviewed the report on the phased achievements of Ping An Health’s CPD program for family doctors, and expressed her hope to introduce AI-powered innovative training models in future WONCA training programs in collaboration with Ping An Health, and to promote and replicate these models for family doctors nationwide.
At the “AI Era: Enhancing Family Doctor Capabilities” Roundtable, family medicine experts and professors across China, along with enterprise representatives, engaged in in-depth dialogue. Participating experts believed that the application of AI will inevitably bring new explorations to family doctor training, promoting the quality improvement of family doctors and a new paradigm for service-based productive forces. Mr. Hou Jieke, Senior Vice President of Ping An Health, stated that he is committed to promoting family doctor training to ensure continuous improvement in service quality. Furthermore, he hopes this globally first online OSCE model for family doctors can provide valuable experience for family doctor training worldwide.

Professor Karen Flegg, President of WONCA, also attended the conference. During her speech, she expressed high appreciation for the digital health platform certification and training curriculum system project jointly promoted by Ping An Health and WONCA. She believes that telemedicine is particularly important for the health of people in rural and remote areas, and Ping An Health’s experience and practices with WONCA in digital health platforms and remote training have far-reaching significance for the development of global family medicine. Professor Karen Flegg is an Associate Professor at the Rural Clinical School of The Australian National University. She is mainly responsible for the management, ecological health, and growth of WONCA. Her research and practice focus on telemedicine and Internet-based healthcare in rural and remote areas.
Professor Li Guodong, Former President of WONCA, systematically reviewed WONCA’s certification process and the collaborative results achieved in certifying Ping An’s digital health platform and family doctor CPD courses. He pointed out that WONCA’s certification system takes into account both technological innovation and humanistic care. Ping An Health’s WONCA certification project demonstrates significant value in improving medical quality, supporting doctor development, and optimizing doctor-patient communication. It provides a new, high-quality digital health model for global family medicine, showcasing the dual value of professionalism and humanism in digital healthcare.
Gratifying Results from Family Doctor Group Standard: Ping An Health Drives High-Quality Development of National Family Doctor Contracted Services
The “11312” family doctor service model, jointly promoted by Ping An’s digital health platform and its CPD program for family doctors, has received professional guidance from the General Practice Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Building on this foundation, it has established the first national group standard for family doctor remote and Internet-based health services, successfully achieving authoritative certification from AGPAL, a certification body designated by RACGP.
Director Peng Derong, General Secretary of the Family Doctor Branch of the Chinese Aging Well Association, and President of the nation’s first community health service center-based Internet hospital, representing the publishing party of the family doctor group standard, provided a detailed interpretation of the “Specification for Family Doctor Remote and Internet-based Health Services” group standard. This standard, formulated based on Ping An Health’s “11312” model, was presented to national experts, followed by in-depth discussions on its application in 100 cities across the country, led by the Chinese Aging Well Association.
